Copycat Five Guys Cajun Fries (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Potatoes

01 - 400 g large white potatoes, peeled and cut into 0.5–1 cm fries

→ Cajun Spice Blend

02 - 1 tsp paprika
03 - 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper
04 - 1 tsp garlic powder
05 - 1 tsp onion powder
06 - 1 tsp dried oregano
07 - 1 tsp white pepper
08 - 0.5 tsp celery seeds
09 - 1 tsp salt

10 - 1 tbsp peanut oil
11 - Chopped parsley, for garnish (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Peel the potatoes and cut them into fries measuring 0.5–1 cm in width.
02 - Place the cut fries in a large bowl of ice-cold water and soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
03 - Combine paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, white pepper, celery seeds, and salt in a bowl to form the Cajun seasoning.
04 - Preheat oven to 200°C. Line a large baking tray with baking paper to prevent sticking.
05 - Drain the potatoes and pat completely dry. Place fries in a clean dry bowl, add peanut oil and 2 tablespoons Cajun spice blend, stirring to ensure even coating.
06 - Spread the fries on the prepared tray in a single, even layer without overlapping.
07 - Bake for 30–35 minutes or until fries are golden and crispy.
08 - Sprinkle an additional 1–2 teaspoons of Cajun spice blend over the baked fries and garnish with chopped parsley as desired before serving.
09 - For air fryer cooking: Follow steps 1–5, then air fry fries at 200°C for approximately 15 minutes. Shake basket, add 1 tsp more seasoning, and air fry for another 5 minutes. Serve as above.

01 - Best served immediately; store cooled fries in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days and reheat in the oven or air fryer to restore crispness.
02 - Cut potatoes into even shapes for uniform cooking and optimal texture.
03 - Thoroughly drying potatoes prior to seasoning enhances crispiness.
04 - Ensure the oven is fully preheated for best results.
05 - Space the fries out well on the tray to promote even browning.
06 - Adjust cayenne pepper to taste if spiciness preference differs.
