Pizza Grilled Cheese Sandwich (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 4 thick slices of bread
02 - 120 g mozzarella cheese, sliced or shredded
03 - 16 slices of pepperoni
04 - 60 ml pizza sauce
05 - 20 g unsalted butter, softened
06 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

→ Optional toppings

07 - Fresh basil leaves
08 - Sliced black olives
09 - Sautéed mushrooms
10 - Cooked sausage crumbles
11 - Pinch of red pepper flakes

# Instructions:

01 - Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.
02 - Flip bread slices and spread pizza sauce on the unbuttered sides of two slices.
03 - Evenly layer mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices over the sauced sides. Add any desired optional toppings at this stage.
04 - Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side facing out. Sprinkle Italian seasoning over the exposed bread surfaces.
05 - Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place sandwiches in the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula, until bread is golden brown and cheese is fully melted.
06 - Remove from the skillet and let rest for 1–2 minutes before slicing. Serve immediately.

01 - For even melting, cook the sandwiches over medium-low heat and use a lid to trap steam.
