01 -
Cut each thawed dinner roll ball in half to create 24 portions. Roll each portion into a 6-inch long rope or "snake" shape.
02 -
Grasp both ends of each dough rope and twist them clockwise simultaneously to create a twisted shape. Pinch the ends together and tuck the thinnest part under to secure the twist.
03 -
Place the twists at least 1 inch apart in your air fryer basket. Brush both sides generously with canola oil. Cover with plastic wrap and let them rest at room temperature for about 15 minutes to puff up slightly.
04 -
While the first batch is resting, prepare the remaining twists the same way and let them rest on a baking sheet covered with plastic wrap until ready to cook.
05 -
In a large bowl, whisk together the cinnamon and sugar until well combined. Set aside.
06 -
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F. Air fry the first batch for 7 minutes, then brush with a little more oil if they're not browning well. Flip the twists over and continue air frying for another 4-5 minutes until golden brown on both sides.
07 -
While the twists are cooking, beat the cream cheese and vanilla extract in a medium bowl on low speed until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and beat on low until combined. Gradually add splashes of milk until you reach a thick but drizzly consistency. Set aside.
08 -
As soon as the twists come out of the air fryer, brush them with melted butter (or toss them in a large bowl with the butter). Immediately coat them generously in the cinnamon sugar mixture, making sure they're well covered.
09 -
Serve the cinnamon sugar twists immediately while warm, with the cream cheese dip on the side for dunking.
