Lasagna Dip (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Base

01 - 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
02 - ½ pound mild ground Italian sausage
03 - ½ small yellow onion, diced
04 - 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
05 - 1 cup (257g) marinara sauce

→ Cheese Layer

06 - 1 cup (246g) ricotta cheese
07 - 1½ cups (169.5g) shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
08 - ¼ cup (25g) finely grated parmesan cheese

→ Seasonings

09 - 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, divided
10 - ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
11 - ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
12 - ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
13 - Fresh basil, chopped for garnish

→ For Serving

14 - Crostini, breadsticks, or crackers for dipping

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
02 - Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook sausage, onion, ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper for 8 minutes, breaking up sausage. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more.
03 - Stir in marinara sauce, bring to simmer, then remove from heat.
04 - Mix ricotta, ½ cup mozzarella, parmesan, remaining Italian seasoning, and optional red pepper flakes in a medium bowl.
05 - Spread ricotta mixture in oven-safe skillet, top with sausage mixture and remaining mozzarella. Bake 15-20 minutes until bubbly and golden.
06 - Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot with breadsticks, crostini, or crackers.
