Tikka Masala Meatballs (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Meatballs

01 - 1 pound ground chicken or turkey
02 - 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
03 - 1 large egg
04 - 1 tablespoon olive oil
05 - 1 garlic clove, minced
06 - 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
07 - 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
08 - 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
09 - 1/2 teaspoon paprika
10 - 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
11 - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

→ Tikka Masala Sauce

12 - 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
13 - 1/2 yellow onion, diced
14 - 1 tablespoon tomato paste
15 - 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
16 - 2 cloves garlic, minced
17 - 1 teaspoon garam masala
18 - 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
19 - 1 teaspoon chili powder
20 - 1/2 teaspoon paprika
21 - 1/2 teaspoon cumin
22 - 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
23 - 15 ounce can crushed tomatoes
24 - 1/4 cup chicken broth
25 - 1/2 cup coconut milk or heavy cream
26 - 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

27 - Cooked rice

29 - Fresh cilantro for garnish

# Instructions:

01 - Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - In a large bowl, combine ground meat, breadcrumbs, egg, oil, garlic, and all meatball spices. Mix thoroughly with clean hands until well combined.
03 - Using a cookie scoop, portion about 11⁄2 tablespoons of mixture and roll into balls. Place on prepared baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
04 - Bake for 18-22 minutes, flipping halfway through, until cooked through.
05 - While meatballs bake, melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook onion until tender, 3-5 minutes.
06 - Add tomato paste, ginger, garlic, and all sauce spices. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
07 - Add tomatoes and broth. Bring to boil, then reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes until slightly thickened.
08 - Stir in cream and lemon juice. Add cooked meatballs and simmer 3-5 minutes until heated through.
