Italian Turkey Meatballs with Marinara (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 pound ground turkey
02 - 1 large egg
03 - 1⁄4 cup panko breadcrumbs
04 - 1⁄2 white onion, finely diced
05 - 1⁄2 cup grated parmesan cheese
06 - 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
07 - 2 garlic cloves, minced
08 - 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
09 - 1⁄4 teaspoon black pepper
10 - 1⁄8 teaspoon red pepper flakes

→ Marinara Sauce

11 - 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
12 - 1⁄2 white onion, diced
13 - 3 garlic cloves, minced
14 - 1 teaspoon dried basil
15 - 1⁄2 teaspoon dried oregano
16 - 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
17 - 1⁄4 teaspoon black pepper
18 - 1⁄8-1⁄4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

# Instructions:

01 - Heat a sauce pot over medium heat with cooking spray. Sauté garlic and onions until softened, about 1-2 minutes.
02 - Add crushed tomatoes and all seasonings to the pot. Reduce heat to medium-low and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Set aside.
03 - Preheat your oven to 350°F. Spray a broiler pan with non-stick cooking spray.
04 - In a large bowl, combine all meatball ingredients and mix well. Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared broiler pan.
05 - Bake meatballs for 25-30 minutes until cooked through. Once done, toss with the warm marinara sauce and serve.

01 - Regular breadcrumbs can be substituted for panko
02 - Meatballs can be frozen for up to 3 months
03 - For extra flavor, let marinara simmer longer
